Before the spin-off of Active Alpha, Tom Picking was a Portfolio Manager for equity derivatives at Horizon21 Active Alpha. He joined Horizon21 in 2009.

Previously, Tom Picking gained several years of experience trading European and US equity derivatives markets at Bear Stearns in London. He worked with a range of products including Delta-1, listed securitized structured products and OTC equity exotics. Prior to joining Bear Stearns in 2004, he gathered experience in trading support and quantitative analysis at Schroders Investment Managers and Cheyne Capital Management. He started his career in 2001 at Credit Suisse First Boston in London as an Equities Market Risk Analyst.

He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Finance from Royal Holloway, University of London, and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from the Imperial College, University of London.
